Depression kicks in
When you are kissing your lover's lips
On a rainy day.
When he holds you close and makes you laugh,
When his fingers wrap around yours, tightly
When his body is on top of yours
And it starts to suffocate your entire being
Like a boulder on top of your chest, and you are
Drowning through your tears as if you were sinking into the ocean
Still grabbing every ounce of life, both out of yours and his
Because your bones can't make a boat
But you know his arms will make a life jacket
That will keep you floating no matter what.
Depression happens when he loves you most
Or at all.
